For whom is liver detoxification best?

Many healthcare professionals like myself who practice natural medicine, believe that the liver is the key player of cellular detoxification in the body. If the liver does not detoxify optimally, there will be a back up in almost every other organ system, and disease and illness ensue. This easy-to-do liver detoxification program is crucial for the prevention of many diseases.

Some people say that great health starts in the mind. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the emotions of anger, suppressed anger and sadness specifically affect the health of the liver. Therefore, how we think and feel play a huge role in the health of our liver and its ability to detoxify and eliminate toxins.

The health of the mind influences the body. The health of the body influences the mind. To experience fantastic health, both body and mind must work in harmony.

This particular cleanse enhances the detoxification abilities of the liver and other organs in order to promote fantastic health.

Before cells can regenerate and become healthy, the toxins within these cells must first be eliminated.

What do I need to do a liver detoxification program?

How do I do this program?
This liver detoxification program takes 3 weeks to complete. Most people, both beginners and those who have done the program before, will finish in 3 weeks.

If you are a beginner, start with 1/4 scoop of MediClearŪ 2 times daily for 4 days, increase to 1/2 scoop 2 times daily for the next 4 days, increase to 1 scoop 2 times daily for the next 10 days, and finally, take 2 scoops 2 times daily until the powder is finished.

Follow the diet as outlined in the program guide.. with one exception. Ignore the dietary recommendations for Week 2 of the program, and instead, follow the same dietary guideline as outlined in Week 1 for the entire 3 weeks.

Take the following:

1. Scorbatate 1/2 tsp 2 times daily (may be taken in unsweetened juice)
2. Greens Formula 1 scoop daily
3. Super HMF Powder 1/4 tsp 2 times daily
4. Milk Thistle Plus 1 capsules 3 times daily with food

The above powders may be taken together along with the MediClearŪ if you choose.

If you have already done this liver detoxification program before, or intuitively know that your body can handle a comprehensive detox program, follow the instructions in the program guide for all of the 3 weeks. During Week 2 of this detox program, people either feel like they have exceptional energy or feel quite weak. If it is the latter, it is usually for one of two reasons: either the body is detoxifying at a very rapid rate and the weakness/fatigue is due to the elimination of toxins; OR for some people, the elimination of animal protein is challenging for their body. (Please note, that during Week 2, you are indeed getting enough protein from the MediClearŪ powder).

Regardless, this is excellent information for yourself for future use as you may be an individual who requires animal proteins to achieve great health. In that case, take MediClearŪ as instructed in the program guide..

Take all other supplements as listed above for the Beginner's Program.

Drinking 10 (8 oz.) glasses of purified water daily is an absolute must while on this cleanse. This does not include juice, coffee, milk, tea or any other beverage (except for ginger tea as described below).

Perform dry skin brushing after your hydrotherapy shower each morning.

Exercise for at least 20 - 60 minutes each day.

In the evening before bed, wind your body down by doing one of the following: slow diaphragmatic breathing, prayer or meditation.

If you have a wonderful, optimistic and positive attitude, great! If not, it may be helpful for you to read• LOVE & HAPPINESS • as well as the book "Happiness is a Choice".

How often do I do a liver detoxification?
I recommend doing this liver detoxification program 4 times yearly with each season, especially after the Christmas/New Year's holidays. This is a fantastic way to start off the New Year.

For maintenance between liver detoxification programs, some people, including myself, choose to drink a Naturally Empowered Health Shake 4 - 5 times per week.

Who should not do this program?
Pregnant or lactating women

People who are taking numerous pharmaceutical drugs and have a severe disease would be wise to seek the advice of a naturopathic physician prior to doing this detox program on their own since quite often, other imbalances and other organs of elimination need to be improved at the beginning of treatment before these people will be able to tolerate any detoxification program.

People who do not have a bowel movement at least once daily should wait to do this program until regular daily bowel function occurs. If you do not have a daily bowel movement, I strongly recommend that you read and follow Bowel detoxification program and water quantity.

Anything else I should know?
Most people experience no detoxification discomfort at all. On the rare occasion, some people experience some initial mild discomfort from liver detoxification as the body dumps out its waste.

This can be completely controlled by adjusting the dosages of the products. If this occurs, just cut the dosages of all supplements by 1/2, or by a 1/4 if the discomfort is intense. When you find you have no discomfort with detoxification, slowly increase the dosages of the supplements to your level of tolerance.

If you experience gastric discomfort during the cleanse, drink ginger tea: slice a piece of fresh peeled ginger root, place it in water, bring it to a boil, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Drink as much as you like.

Healthy bowel function usually occurs while on this program. Diarrhoea rarely occurs. But if this does happen, great. It is temporary and it is your body's way of flushing out toxic wastes.

Similarly, constipation rarely happens. However, if this occurs, you need to encourage bowel function by one or all of the following:
1. Ensure you are eating plenty of both raw leafy green vegetables and steamed greens daily and plenty of fresh fruit
2. Increase the Scorbatate powder to 1 1/4 tsp twice daily
3. Take 1 Tbsp Flax meal 3 times daily with food and take 1 Tbsp Flax Oil 2 times daily
4. Ensure you are drinking the recommended amount of water.

While on this program, bowel movements may temporarily change shape, colour, size, odour and frequency as your body actively eliminates its toxic wastes.

The following bares repetition: You must drink at least 10 glasses (8 oz.) of purified water daily in order to facilitate easy removal of the metabolized toxins via your kidneys
